英式发音中有个关键是「t」的发音 ——「the glottal t」。「glottal」是人类发音结构中的「声门」，大概在喉咙的位置，因此，「声门音」也可以被称作「喉音」。那么，「the glottal t」到底是什么呢？英文老师 Aly 就在《Papa Teach Me》上介绍了这个英式发音的关键！

一般我们发「t」的音时，会发出跟注音「ㄊ」非常类似的音（但是一般「t」发音比「ㄊ」还短一点），会感觉到气从嘴巴中吐出去。

但是「the glottal t」就是不吐气，发音位置停在喉咙中，听起来很像没有发出「t」的声音。

通常只要需要发出「t [t]」的发音时，都会使用「the glottal t」。

e.g water → wa’er

e.g bottle → bo’le

当然，如果每一个有「t」的单字都去掉它的发音，就有点过头了，建议可以混用。

e.g a little bit → a li’le bit

最后，有些字是不可以使用「the glottal t」：mountain / hotel…

一如所有的文法规则，发音规则一样有例外，还是要靠大家多听多看来观察，才会说出一口自然好听、跟 Benedict Cumberbatch 一样性感的英国腔！
